| Marine scientist Denis Hunt photographed his first humpback whales in 1992 in Hawaii. He has been focusing on whales on Australia's east coast since 2001 when, together with Russell de Groot, he established Pro Dive WhaleWatch. Many of his photographs were taken from his favourite perch on the bow of Sea Life V. |
Since 1993, Wayne Reynolds has been providing scientists and researchers with invaluable written and photographic records of the whales migrating along the NSW coast. He was presented with the Serventy Conservation Award by the Wildlife Preservation Society of Australia in 2005. |
Owner and operator of Halicat, Hal Epstein pioneered whale watching tours off Sydney in 1997. His Nikon D100 is his constant companion. He takes many visitors and groups from overseas on pelagic bird watching and nature watch tours out to the deep waters off Sydney in search of the various seabirds and cetaceans that can be seen there. |
